Getting Organized

I have a fantasy of an organized home, and in the gap between that fantasy and my current reality is the source of endless craziness.  I can visualize how it would look, where everything would go, how it would feel to have my home in order.  That’s why the people at the Container Store love me.  I’ll buy almost anything there.  On Friday I had a transformative Container Store encounter.  I went in to pick up a few Elfa additions for our master closet and checked out their garage solutions.  Right now the Acadia is parked in the garage and the Honda in the driveway.  Why?  Well because my stroller collection is parked in the Honda’s spot.

I picked up some hooks that I hope will work for the strollers, and the woman who rung me up promised that Elfa would change my life.  I told her that I have a toddler and twin babies, expecting her to have the same reaction of shock and sympathy that most people show.  Not this lady.  She told me that they decided to have a second child and she ended up with spontaneous triplets, born seven days before her first child’s second birthday.  So yeah, four within two years.  If we were in a contest for craziest story then she won, hands down.  Her girls are now eight and ten, and she was so lovely and sane.  I’ll be heading back to the Container Store for continued storage solutions and spiritual guidance from the pretty lady who has managed to raise a singelton and triplets with her youth, beauty and sense of humor intact.
